How to raise your headshot rate to 40% — 7 techniques pro players actually use
The “auto headshot config” files sold on YouTube are scams that get accounts banned. A real headshot rate is built with practice and the right settings. These seven techniques actually work:
1. Match Your Sensitivity to Your Device
On 4GB-RAM devices, general sensitivity of 90–95 with DPI 410–450 is the most common starting point. But every phone is different — check our sensitivity guide for settings tuned to your exact model.
2. Keep Your Crosshair at Head Level
This is the single biggest difference: pro players keep their crosshair pre-aimed at head height, so there is almost no aiming left to do when an enemy appears.
3. Practise Drag Headshots — 15 Minutes Daily
In the training ground, practise dragging the fire button slightly upward while shooting with the AWM or M1887. Start slow, then build speed.
4. Use the M1887 or AWM for One-Taps
At close range the M1887 is the one-tap machine; in scoped fights it is the AWM. The drag technique rewards these two weapons the most.
5. Learn the Gloo Wall Peek-Shot
Peek from behind your gloo wall, take the shot, and slide back into cover. This rhythm makes headshots both safe and accurate.
6. Build a Custom HUD
Size and place your fire button so your thumb rests naturally. Moving from 2-finger to 3-finger claw also boosts most players’ headshot rate.
7. Review Your Own Gameplay
Watch recordings of 2–3 of your matches every week and study the pattern in your missed shots (firing too early? crosshair too low?). Nothing improves you faster.
